Leah and I will be creating a promotional video for the
Waltham Forest council, Elijah Sobanjo, in partnership with Artillery who
participate in creating events and pursuing a company to be known around the
Waltham store borough. It is a community centre in which helps involves the
community to involve themselves in activities, fairs and event that are
organized by them or by another association.
For this promotional video we would be filming a festival
that the Waltham Forest council had conducted regarding growing vegetables and
fruits around the borough in which holds different event where the community can
get involved with during the month of March.
After constant meetings with our client, Ingrid, we had
settled down with an idea pitch to how our promotional video would look and
what it would contain to the client’s expectations.
The Idea:
To film events from different places within the borough on
different days and record and interview some locals, the councillor and the
celebrity of master chef on the events and their personal views on the event.
We had considered to visit at least 4 events t1o have more
coverage and cut away – also considering availability - when editing enabling
to make the video appear fun and interesting.
Since the target audience is towards the community they had
asked us to make sure that the footages involves with a range of ethnic and age
groups having to be involved with these events to have the audience identify
that anyone can be involved with these events no matter what age or ethnicity
you are.
We had thought of working with a small team of digital
designers, musicians and photographers who would also be involved with the
events and use their documents to be in the video such as photos and to be
credited for that in the video. For this it’ll appear unique and interesting.
The film is to appear colourful, lively and bright to
portray the meaning of community, team work, fun and excitement.
The video is to be approximately 3 minutes long and so would
want lots of video coverage and maybe some images to make the video appear
vibrant and interesting.
Music wise they would want the music to be relatively sweet
and simple than having a cheesy and typical sound track as they would want the
pace to be relatively fast to suit the lively and exciting atmospheric appeal
they want to portray in 3 minutes.
To make things more imaginative but relatively related they
would also like to have some of the graphic images to me in motion and to add
in some effects to portray the image such as a bumble bee o have a buzz sound
and roam a little around the screen. This way it would appear more unique and
different.
Overall, this is to promote the Cultivate Company because
they are the key reason to this event and to credit the different centres and
businesses who helped out with the events.
